Step-by-step guide Payouts, fees and fiscal data

Reading revenue, fees and pre-sale rights

The event dashboard (status strip, Summary per title, Sales channels, Availability and sales status), the Reservations report, Reservation management, the Reservation detail and the Nightify Business app all show the amount, the pre-sale rights, the fees charged to the fan and the total. What every column contains, what is yours and what is not, and how to read the statuses.

Sales figures appear in several places in the console with the same columns. Understanding what each one contains avoids mistakes: in particular, the Commissions column only reports the fees paid by the fan, while the pre-sale rights are yours and Amount is the price of the tickets.

At a glance

  • Where: the event dashboard (status strip, Summary table, Availability and sales status section, Sales channels table), Reservations report, Reservation management, Reservation detail (Payment summary box), the Nightify Business app (Sales summary on iPhone, Sales summary on Android).
  • Permissions: View events for the dashboard, View event reservations for the report, View organization reservations and View organization reservation details for management and detail. A Promoter only sees their own channel.
  • Key rule: confirmed revenue only counts completed and paid sales.

The event dashboard, section by section

  1. Status strip (labelled Sales status and availability) above the Summary table: five counters with an explanation on hover. Sold: Completed and paid bookings: they reduce availability and generate confirmed revenue. Awaiting payment: Bookings created with payment not yet completed: tickets are held temporarily while the payment window remains valid. Processing: Payments received or under verification that the system is still processing: their tickets remain temporarily occupied. Unpaid / expired: Unpaid, failed, or expired bookings: they do not reduce current availability. Available now: Tickets available to buy now: capacity minus sold, awaiting-payment, and processing bookings. The first four are links that open the Reservations report already filtered on that status; at the bottom the note Revenue includes completed sales only. and the View all reservations link. With no access titles, Available now shows N/A.
  2. Summary table: one row per title with Access title, Access passes qty, Amount, Pre-sale rights, Commissions, Total, Entries.
  3. Availability and sales status: for each title a bar with the shares and the short labels Sold, awaiting, processing, available and, where present, unpaid/expired; below it, the legend and the notes Unpaid or expired orders do not reduce ticket availability. and Confirmed revenue remains in the summary above.
  4. Sales channels: one row per channel (promoters and tracking channels) with Channel, Reservations qty, Access passes qty, Commissions, Pre-sale rights, Total, Entries and the totals row.

The other places in the console

  • Reservations report: per single order, the columns Number, User, Phone, Marketing consent, Date, Channel, Commissions, Pre-sale rights, Total, Status, Payment, Entries. The Filter by payment filter separates Paid (Yes) and Unpaid (No).
  • Reservation management (the whole organization): Number, User, Date, Event, Platform, Method, Commissions, Pre-sale rights, Total, Status, Payment.
  • Reservation detail, Payment summary box: Payment status (Paid, Unpaid or Complimentary), Payment method (No payment required for free orders), Amount, Service fees, Pre-sale rights, Total and, when it exists, Service fee receipt with Download service fee receipt; below it, the Technical details block with the payment identifiers.
  • Nightify Business app: in the event card the Sales summary block (iPhone) or Sales summary (Android) reports the sales totals with the Fees entry, following the same rule: only fees charged to the fan.

How to read what is yours

  • The sums that concern you are Amount and Pre-sale rights of the Confirmed sales paid online; the Commissions column belongs to Nightify and must not be added to your revenue.
  • If you have titles with absorbed fees, the amount held back is not visible in the console: work it out from the Service fee shown in the title form multiplied by the tickets sold for that title.
  • Orders with Payment at the entrance are Confirmed but Unpaid: you collect them on site and they never pass through Nightify.
  • For refunded orders the Nightify fees are always retained: the order history reports Nightify fees excluded from the refund: ….
  • Payouts of online revenue are handled by the Nightify team and have no page in the console: see the dedicated article.

Messages and errors

SituationWhyWhat to do
Commissions at 0 on a title that soldThe title absorbs the fees: the column only shows the ones charged to the fan.Nothing: this is the expected behaviour.
Available now shows N/AThe event has no access titles.Create the titles in the Add tickets step.
Sold does not match the rows of the reportThe report also includes unconfirmed or unpaid orders.Use Filter by Status = Confirmed and Filter by payment = Paid (Yes).

Special cases

  • Awaiting payment and Processing reservations. They hold the titles temporarily but are not revenue until they become Confirmed and paid; when the 15 minutes run out they move to Payment not completed and release the places.
  • Shared report. With Share report you create a read-only link with the event statistics for partners and collaborators; it does not show customer contacts or the channel links.
  • Export. The CSV of the Reservations report contains the Total per order but not the Commissions and Pre-sale rights columns: for those values use the console tables.

Rules and limits

  • Confirmed revenue only includes Confirmed and paid sales.
  • The Commissions column never exposes absorbed fees.
