Step-by-step guide Payouts, fees and fiscal data

Fees absorbed or added to the ticket price

For every access title you decide whether the service fee is paid by the fan on top of the price (the default) or absorbed by you out of the price. How the fee is calculated, what the Buyer total preview and the Cost to buyer / Your payout boxes show, the Pre-sale right, what changes in the reports (the Commissions column only shows the fees paid by the fan) and the messages.

The service fee pays for Nightify ticketing. For each access title you choose who pays it: the fan, on top of the price you set, or you, held back from the price. The choice is visible straight away in the preview of the title and it changes both what the fan reads in the summary and what you find in the reports.

At a glance

  • Where: editing the event → Add tickets step → access title form (Create access type or editing an existing title): the Price (€) field, the Absorb the fees: ticketing fees are deducted from your ticket earnings checkbox and, under Advanced settings, Pre-sale right.
  • Permissions: Manage events and Manage ticketing.
  • Default: checkbox not ticked, that is Fees added to the total: the fan pays price plus fee and you collect the full price.
  • With the checkbox ticked: the fan pays exactly the price shown and the fee is held back from your revenue, never beyond the ticket price.

The two modes

ModeWhat the fan paysWhat you collect per ticket
Fees added to the total (checkbox not ticked, the default)Ticket price + service fee + any pre-sale right.Ticket price + pre-sale right.
Absorb the fees: ticketing fees are deducted from your ticket earnings (checkbox ticked)Ticket price + any pre-sale right; no fee line.Ticket price minus the fee (capped at the price itself) + the pre-sale right, which stays entirely yours.

Step by step

  1. Open the title. In the Add tickets step create a title or open the one you want to edit.
  2. Set the price. Fill in Price (€) (hint: Enter the final ticket price for this access type. Use 0.00 for free entry.). What you see: below the field Buyer total: … appears with the total the fan will pay.
  3. Open the details. Press View details. What you see: the Cost to buyer box with Ticket price, Service fee and Total, and the Your payout box with Ticket revenue. The box does not include the pre-sale right.
  4. Choose who pays the fee. Tick or untick Absorb the fees: ticketing fees are deducted from your ticket earnings; the hint explains: If enabled, service fees are deducted from your revenue; if disabled, they are added to the buyer total. Result: Buyer total, Service fee and Ticket revenue update immediately.
  5. Set the pre-sale right, if any. Under Advanced settings fill in Pre-sale right (Enter any presale fee to add on top of the ticket price.).
  6. Save the title and carry on with publishing the event.

How the fee is calculated

  • The fee is calculated per ticket according to a price band: a percentage of the price plus a fixed amount, following the bands configured by Nightify (in general or, if agreed, for the single event). The percentages are not shown in the form: read the resulting amount in Service fee.
  • Free tickets carry no fee.
  • With absorbed fees the amount held back never exceeds the ticket price and never touches the pre-sale right.
  • Prices and fees are recalculated and locked when the reservation is created; if they change during a checkout the fan sees Prices or fees have changed. Reload the cart and review the new total before continuing.

What happens next

  • In the Reservation summary the fan sees the Service fees line only if the fee is charged to them; with absorbed fees the line does not appear or is zero.
  • The Service fee receipt only exists for orders with fees charged to the fan.
  • In the console the Commissions column (Summary dashboard, Sales channels, Reservations report, Reservation management) only contains the fees charged to the buyer: with absorbed fees it shows 0 and the amount held back is not exposed on any console page.
