During the review the event is locked. If you notice a mistake you do not have to wait for the outcome: you can withdraw the submission, fix it and send it again. For an event that is already live the fans keep seeing the approved version.

At a glance

  • Where: event dashboard (from the Live events list, View entry in the row menu), status card at the top, Cancel verification and return to draft button. The same button appears in the Event under review window that opens when you try to edit the event.
  • Permissions: Manage events.
  • When: with the event in the Under review or Changes under review status.
  • What you get: the status goes back to Draft (or Draft changes pending) and the editing pages unlock.

Step by step

  1. Open the event dashboard. From Live events tap the row or the row menu (icon with the three dots) and choose View. What you see: at the top the status card with the title Event under review (or Changes under review), the note Verification may take up to 12 hours. You will receive an email once the review is complete., the submission data (Submission date, Submitted by, Submission ID) and the buttons.
  2. Press Cancel verification and return to draft. Result: the request points to the exact version under review; there is no confirmation window.
  3. Read the message. Confirmation: Verification canceled. The event has been moved back to draft. in the dashboard; the badge becomes Draft for a new event or Draft changes pending for a live event, the card shows Event draft (or Draft in progress) with the note Changes will remain in draft status until they are submitted for review and approved by an administrator. and the buttons Continue editing the draft, Publish event / Publish changes and Delete draft / Delete draft snapshot.
  4. Fix it and submit again with Continue editing the draft and then Publish event or Publish changes.

What happens next

  • For an event that is already live the public version stays the approved one: the fans notice nothing.
  • The organization members allowed to receive notifications get the e-mail Event status change: with the name of the event.
  • In the Change history the operation appears as cancel_review.
  • The new submission creates a new review request: there is no position in a queue to keep.

Rules and limits

  • Only the review in progress of the version shown on the page is cancelled; a page that is not up to date is refused.
  • The cancellation deletes nothing: the draft stays with all the changes.
  • The Manage events permission is required; the button does not appear for those who do not have it.
