The editor opens from Create new map, from Edit map, from the card of the map or from the side step Edit seat map. The screen is titled Edit seating map with the subtitle Define the layout of sections and stage for … followed by the name of the event. Every change is saved straight away: there is no save button separate from the individual actions.
At a glance
- Where: Add tickets step → Seat map section → Edit map, or side step Edit seat map.
- Permissions: Manage ticketing.
- Where the controls are: the Create stage, Create table, Create section and Create general admission area buttons are in the bar at the bottom of the page, together with the save status; the Zoom controls (Zoom + and Zoom −) are at the top left on the map; the cards of the elements, grouped into Areas, Tables and Sections, are in the sidebar.
- The four types of element: Stage, Numbered section, Reserved table, General admission area.
Before you start
- With reservations recorded the editor is read-only: You cannot modify or remove the seat map because the event already has reservations. appears and the map is covered by a veil that blocks every interaction.
- Only one user at a time can use the editor of the same event; in case of conflict the Event already being edited window appears.
Step by step
- Follow the tour, the first time. On an empty map the guide appears with the label Empty map and four steps: Add the stage (The map is empty. Start here to place the stage and define the main visual reference for the event.), Create a section, Add a table and Create a general admission area. Use Next, Previous and Done, or Close tour. The order of the buttons in the bar is instead Create stage, Create table, Create section, Create general admission area.
- Add the stage. Press Create stage (hint: Press to add the stage to the empty map.). The stage appears with the label Stage, which you can rewrite (maximum 80 characters); drag it to position it, resize it and rotate it. It does not sell seats and has no seat order: it is there to orient the fan.
- Create the numbered sectors. Press Create section. What you see: the sector on the map and its card in the Sections group of the sidebar, with the wording Numbered section, the number of Seats, the Rows and Columns fields, the Seat order select and the Advanced settings subsection with Labels (Numbers or Letters), Start with, Step (Consecutive or Skip one for odd and even numbering) and Order (Ascending or Descending). The name of the sector is generated from the typology chosen in Seat order, for example Settore SA: there is no field for a free name.
- Add the tables. Press Create table. In the card of the Tables group (Reserved table) choose the Shape (Round or Rectangular), the number of Seats (up to 50) and the Seat order. Tables cannot be rotated.
- Create the areas. Press Create general admission area. In the card of the Areas group (General admission area) set the Capacity and the Seat order. An area only sells quantities, not numbered seats.
- Arrange the layout. When you select an element on the map the action buttons appear: delete, rotate (in steps of 15 degrees, not available for tables), duplicate and move. Drag to move, use the handles to resize. With Remove element in the card you delete the element. What you see: if you try to take an element beyond the borders you get Element cannot be placed outside of the map.; beyond the rotation limit Rotation angle is outside the allowed range.
- Assign the rates. In the card of each element use Assigned rates and the Assign rate select, or Add new rate to create one without leaving the editor (see the dedicated article).
- Check the saving and finish. In the bottom bar the indicator shows Saved, Saving… or Error (in that case repeat the last operation). Press Save and continue: you return to the Add tickets step.

What happens next
- The capacity of the event is the sum of the capacities of the areas, the seats of the tables and the seats of the sectors, recalculated at every change and shown locked in the Add tickets step.
- When you change the capacity of an element that has rates assigned (seats of the table, rows and columns, capacity of the area) the editor offers to align the quantity of the linked access titles with the question The available quantity for the access title "…" (N) differs from the element capacity (M). Do you want to update the ticket quantity?
- For an event that is already online the new layout is visible to fans after Publish changes and approval.
Messages and errors

| Rotation angle is outside the allowed range. | Too many consecutive rotations. | Rotate the other way or duplicate the element. |
| You cannot modify or remove the seat map because the event already has reservations. | Editor read-only because reservations exist. | No change to the layout is possible. |

Special cases
- Odd and even numbering. Use Step = Skip one and two sectors side by side, one starting from 1 and one from 2.
- A single general admission area. If it is the only element left and it has seat order Posto unico (UN) (general admission), the map is not considered structured and the capacity of the event becomes manual again.
- You want to create the access title while you draw. Add new rate opens the Access titles management window with the same form as the Create access type page.
Rules and limits
- Tables up to 50 seats; 2-character seat order codes, unique within the map and generated from the chosen typology.
- The map is read-only as soon as the event has reservations.
- Leave room between the elements: the fan has to be able to tap them from a phone too. Editorial advice, not a constraint of the system.
