The Add tickets step is the console page where you decide how the ticketing of an event works: whether SIAE ticketing is needed, which access titles to sell, how many people you can welcome and whether the fan picks a seat on a map. The choices made here drive the validation at publication time and the way tickets are generated, so it is worth knowing them one by one.
At a glance
- Where: web console, event dashboard → Edit event tab → Add tickets step in the sidebar (the page is titled Create or edit event). From the Live events list the row menu (icon with the three dots) has the Edit item, which opens the Event page step: from there you move to Add tickets with the sidebar.
- Permissions: Manage ticketing to open and save the step (among the predefined roles only the Administrator has it); Manage events to send the event for review.
- What you get: the SIAE configuration, the access titles, the capacity and the map saved in the draft of the event; for an event already online they become visible to fans only after Publish changes and the approval of Nightify.
- App: the Nightify Business app does not include the ticketing configuration; everything is done from the web console.
Before you start
- Complete the Event page step first with dates and location: the SIAE section shows the location as Selected venue and SIAE ticketing is allowed only with a location in Italy. If the location is outside Italy the SIAE configuration section does not appear at all and the event is treated as non-SIAE.
- For a SIAE event keep the SIAE permit at hand: you need the 13-digit BA code, the category, the nationality of the work, distributor and company. At publication the tax profile of the organization (IBAN, tax code or VAT number, currency) and the telephone number verified with OTP are checked too.
- The event must not be under review: the editing pages are blocked with You can't make changes because the event is under review. It will be reviewed as soon as possible and you will receive an email.
- Only one user at a time can edit the event. If a colleague has opened it you see the Event already being edited window with Take control or Back to event dashboard.
Step by step
- Open the step. From the event dashboard tap Edit event and then Add tickets in the sidebar. What you see: the Create or edit event page with, in this order, the sections SIAE configuration, Create tickets & access titles, Tickets added to the event, Event capacity and Seat map. At the bottom of the page there is the bar with the save indicator (Saved, Saving… or Error), the Save and continue button and the Publish event button (for an event already online Publish changes). If a draft exists, at the top you see the Draft in progress box with the status, the date of the last update and the same submission button.
- SIAE configuration. To the question Does the event require SIAE ticketing? choose one of the two options: Use this option to create an event that requires a SIAE-approved ticketing system – Entertainment or Use this option to create an event that does not require a fiscal ticketing system approved by SIAE – Non entertainment. What you see: until you answer, Select whether the event requires SIAE ticketing to continue. stays visible; with the second option the SIAE fields stay disabled. With the first one fill in SIAE category for the event (the items show the name and the two-digit code), Work nationality (type to search and choose an item from the list, otherwise Select a valid nationality from the list. appears), Distributor, Company / Performer and BA code, with the hint Enter exactly the 13 digits shown on the SIAE permit. The Selected venue section shows name and address of the location from the Event page step; Edit venue takes you back there to change it.
- Create the access titles. In the Create tickets & access titles section tap the Free card (lists, registrations, accreditations) or Paid. Result: the Create access type page opens; with Free the fees box is not shown. There is no button called Create access type in the step: that is the title and the save button of the page that opens. Fill in and save (see the article Create an access title): you come back to the step with the title in the table.
- Check the Tickets added to the event table. What you see: five columns: a column without a heading holding the three-dot menu of the row, Name, Quantity, Status and Order. In the Name cell you find the name, the sales period with the clock icon, the line Price: … · DDP: … and the line Fees added to the total: Yes/No · Min quantity per booking: … · Max quantity per booking: … In the Quantity cell there are two pills: the one with the hourglass counts the Reservations awaiting payment., the one with the ticket shows confirmed/quantity (Confirmed registrations compared to the configured quantity.); an infinite quantity appears as ∞. The Status column shows Active, Sales ended, Sold out or Hidden; the Order cell (☰ icon) is the drag handle. The row menu has View (opens the title) and Hide. As long as no titles exist the table shows No access types available.
- Event capacity. Enter the Commercial capacity, that is the total number of sellable tickets: once that number is reached sales stop. For a non-SIAE event you can tick Unlimited capacity (designed for registrations and accreditations); with SIAE ticketing the checkbox is not allowed and the SIAE capacity (as per permit) field appears instead, which must be at least 1 and no higher than the commercial capacity. What you see: with a structured seat map assigned both fields are locked and show the value calculated from the seats drawn, with the note When an assigned seat map is present, capacity is calculated automatically from the seats drawn on the map.
- Seat map. To the question Do you need a seat map for this event? leave I do not need a seat map. for general admission events, or choose Use this button if your event requires a seat map (show your attendees the layout of available seats and sections). and then Create new map or, if the map already exists, Edit map / Remove assignment (see the articles of the Seat map section).
- Save. Press Save and continue. Result: the data is saved in the draft and the Publish step opens; if a field is not valid you stay in the step with the message under the field. When the event is complete, from this step you can also press Publish event or Publish changes directly: submission follows the same rules as the Publish step.
Fields and options
| Field | What it means | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Does the event require SIAE ticketing? | Decides whether the tickets are SIAE fiscal titles (shows and entertainment) or simple registrations and admissions. | Mandatory. With SIAE active the checks listed in Rules and limits are triggered. |
| SIAE category for the event | SIAE classification used for documents and reports. | Chosen from a list; each item shows the name and the two-digit code. |

| Distributor, Company / Performer | Who distributes the work and who performs it. | Free text. |

| Selected venue | Location of the event taken from the Event page step. | It is not edited here: use Edit venue. |
| Commercial capacity | Total number of sellable tickets; once the limit is reached the event is sold out. | Integer greater than or equal to 1; it cannot go below the tickets already reserved or sold. With a structured map it is calculated from the map and read only. |

| SIAE capacity (as per permit) | Capacity authorised on the SIAE permit. | Only with SIAE; at least 1 and lower than or equal to the commercial capacity; with a structured map it is forced to the same value calculated from the map. |

What happens next
- Everything you save in this step ends up in the draft of the event. For an event never published you submit it with Publish event; for an event already online fans keep seeing the approved version until you press Publish changes and Nightify approves.
- Capacity has automatic effects: from 1,000 seats up buyers have to verify their phone with OTP and the Maximum selectable quantity for the event limit is forced to 10; from 5,000 seats up collecting the details of every attendee is mandatory (titles become named) and new titles are created with Waiting list set to Yes; SIAE resale is possible only from 5,000 seats.
- At publication every title is compared with the capacity: the quantity of a single title cannot exceed the commercial capacity (or, when it is missing, the SIAE capacity). The sum of the quantities of all the titles is not calculated.

Special cases
- Location outside Italy. The SIAE configuration section is hidden and SIAE ticketing is disabled automatically; when publishing a SIAE event with a foreign location you see To use SIAE ticketing the event location must be in Italy. Update the location details.
- Map with a single general admission area. A map made of a single area with seat order Posto unico (UN) (general admission) is not considered structured: capacity stays manual, the side step Edit seat map does not appear and the titles are linked to the area automatically.
- Settings reserved to the administration. Some SIAE rules depend on settings the organizer does not change: Ticket generation must be Extended and every rate must have the QR code enabled. If at publication you see For SIAE ticketing events, ticket generation must be set to Extended. or For SIAE events you must enable QR code generation for the "…" rate., write to support.
- Event with reservations. You can still raise the capacity, but not lower it below the tickets reserved or sold; the seat map cannot be modified nor removed.
