The cancellation of an event is carried out by Nightify at the organizer’s request: the event page shows the CANCELLED button, buyers receive an e-mail and, if the cancellation also covers the reservations, the tickets are disabled. The refund follows the General Terms of Sale and is carried out by Nightify staff as instructed by the organizer.
At a glance
- How you are notified: Event cancelled: event name e-mail to the reservation’s address (always sent, even with e-mails disabled) and a notification in the notification centre, with the reason given by the organizer.
- What changes in your account: if the reservations are cancelled, the status changes to Canceled, the QR codes and wallet passes are disabled and the tickets section disappears.
- Refund: it does not start automatically and you don’t have to fill in any forms: it is ordered by the organizer and carried out by Nightify; Refund completed appears in the history once it has been carried out.
Step by step
- Read the e-mail. It contains the reason for the cancellation and the organizer’s instructions.
- Open the Reservation detail and check the Reservation history on the website: the Refund completed entry with Amount: … means the refund has been carried out; the reservation status becomes Refunded when all the tickets have been refunded.
- Wait for the credit. The refund goes back to the same payment method; how long it takes to show on your statement depends on the bank or the card network.
- If you see nothing after several days write to support from the Contacts page (or to [email protected]) with the reservation code; requests involving the organizer may take up to 28 days.
What the General Terms provide
- If the event is cancelled and not rescheduled, a refund of the ticket price is offered, including the per-ticket handling costs.
- If a multi-day event is only partly cancelled, a partial refund may be granted for the cancelled days.
- Nightify service fees are always excluded from the refund: the history shows Nightify fees excluded from the refund: ….
- Nightify cancels tickets and issues refunds exclusively on the organizer’s explicit instruction.
Special cases
- The reservation still shows as Confirmed: the event cancellation may be recorded without cancelling the reservations; in that case the tickets stay in your account until the organizer decides otherwise. Follow the instructions in the e-mail.
- Ticket listed for resale or sold on resale: it cannot be refunded.
- Event rescheduled instead of cancelled: see the article What happens if an event is postponed or changed.
