Change the language of the site and apps

The Nightify site is available in Italian, English, Spanish, French and German: you can change from the menu with the flag at the top or from the Change language selector in the footer, and each language has its own address. The apps do not have a selector and follow the language of the phone. What changes (interface and event pages translated) and what remains in the original language.

Nightify is translated into five languages: Italian, English, Spanish, French and German. On the site, choose the language whenever you want; in the apps the language is the one set on the phone. The choice changes the texts of the interface and, when the organizer has translated them, also the title, summary and frequently asked questions of the event pages.

At a glance

  • Where (site): menu with the flag and the language code at the top right (for example IT), or the Change language selector at the bottom of the page.
  • Where (app): no selector: the app uses the phone's language.
  • Login required: no.
  • What you get: interface, menus and pages translated into the language of your choice; the texts that the organizer has not translated remain in the original language.

Step by step on the website

  1. Open the language menu. At the top right, tap the flag with the acronym (IT, EN, …). What do you see: the list Italian, English, Spanish, French, German.
  2. Choose the language. Result: the page reloads in the chosen language and the address changes: Italian uses addresses without a prefix (nightify.me/…), other languages have the prefix /en, /es, /fr or /de.
  3. Alternatively, use the footer. At the bottom of each page, under Download APP, the selector with the current language (for example Italian) has the accessible label Change language: choose the item and the page reloads.

In the app

  1. Change the phone language. On iPhone from Settings → General → Language and Region, on Android from system settings under languages. Result: the next time you launch the Nightify app, it uses the new language, if it is one of the five supported languages.
  2. Requests to the server carry the language of the app: even the downloaded contents (titles, summaries, error messages) arrive in that language when the translation exists.

Special cases

  • Open a link received from others: if it contains a language prefix (for example /en/) the page opens in that language; change from the flag menu if you prefer another.
  • You want the app in a different language from the phone: this is not possible from the app; on the site you can choose any language.
  • Mixed texts in an event page: the organizer translated only some fields; the rest remains in the original language.

Rules and limits

  • There are five languages available; it is not possible to add others from the profile.
  • The site language is not a profile setting: it depends on the address opened and the choice made in the browser in use.
