Each Nightify ticket is linked to a booking registered in your account: the QR is generated by the system, it is unique and is accepted only once at the entrance. This is why a ticket bought by a stranger as a screenshot or forwarded PDF gives no guarantee: if the code has already been scanned or the reservation has been cancelled, the scanner rejects it and Nightify cannot intervene. Here you will find how to recognize an authentic purchase and which official tools to use to buy or sell a ticket to a sold-out event.
At a glance
- Official channels: the nightify.me website and the Nightify apps for iPhone and Android; each event page goes online only after verification by Nightify.
- Proof of authenticity: the reservation is in Reservations with status Confirmed and you have received the email Event registration: name of the event.
- Secure resale: only via the waiting list (Putting a ticket up for sale that you cannot use); those who purchase get their own reservation.
- If you have any doubts: Report event with the reason Unauthorized ticket sales, or write to support from the Contact page.
How to recognize an authentic purchase
- You paid on the site or in the app. The Nightify checkout takes place only on nightify.me or in the official apps; no one asks you for bank transfers, top-ups or chat payments. Payment by card may require bank authentication (in the apps, if you do not complete it, 3D Secure Authentication Failed appears on iPhone or Payment cancelled. on Android).
- The reservation is in your account. Website: Reservations → Reservation details; app: Reservations tab. What you see: Confirmed status, each ticket with Price and DDP, the QR of each ticket and, on the site, the Booking history.
- You have received the confirmation email with the subject Event registration: event name, to the account address.
- The QR is yours. You can save it in your wallet or download the PDF, but the code remains linked to your booking: whoever shows it first enters, the others receive Access denied: the QR Code has already been scanned.
Why private sales are risky
| Situation | What happens at the entrance | What Nightify can do |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshot or PDF received from a private individual | Only the first QR scanned is valid: if the seller or another buyer uses it before you, the scanner responds Access denied: the QR Code has already been scanned. | Nothing: the booking remains in the name of the person who purchased on Nightify and a refund is not foreseen. |
| Ticket from a canceled reservation | Access denied: this ticket has been deactivated. | Nothing: the QRs for Cancelled reservations are deactivated. |
| Name ticket registered to another person | The staff can ask for a document and deny entry if the name does not match. | Only the official name change updates the holder (see Changing the holder of a ticket). |
| Link or QR of an event sold outside of Nightify | It is not a Nightify ticket: the scanner does not recognize it. | Report it with Unauthorized ticket sales. |
The safe way to buy or give a ticket
- Sold out event: sign up for the waiting list from the event page (see Joining the waiting list for a sold out event). When a ticket becomes available again, you receive the offer and pay within Nightify, with a reservation that is fully yours.
- You can no longer go: use Put a ticket on sale that you cannot use. The ticket enters the queue and is offered to the next person on the list; if it is purchased you will receive a refund according to the rules of the event, otherwise it remains yours. You can cancel the resale as long as no one has bought it.
- You want to transfer it to a specific person: for nominative titles ask for a change of name; for transferable tickets you can hand over the ticket, remembering that only the first scanned QR is valid: do not keep copies around and do not send it to more than one person.
Report a suspicious sale, step by step
- Open the event page and press Report event (on the site and in the app; the Reason field appears in the app).
- Choose the reason Event not authorized to sell tickets or report invalid tickets, which appears in the summary as Unauthorized ticket sales.
- Describe where you saw the offer (social profile, chat, website) and send. Result: the report reaches Nightify, which examines it; for the complete procedure see Report an event.
Messages and errors
| Message | Why it appears | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Access denied: the QR Code has already been scanned. | The same QR has already entered. | If the ticket is yours and you have not shared it, ask the staff to look for you by name in the Nightify Business app and show the Booking Detail from your account. |
| Access denied: this ticket has been deactivated. | The reservation is Cancelled or the organizer has deactivated the QRs. | Check the status in Reservations; if he doesn't return, write to the organizer with Contact organizer. |
| No reservations in Reservations | The purchase was not made with your Nightify account. | If you bought from a private individual, the ticket is not yours: there is no way to register it. If you paid on Nightify with another address, see Where to find reservations and tickets. |
Special cases
- You bought at a resale through Nightify: the reservation is yours and follows all the ordinary rules (refunds, name change, wallet).
- Private event or with password: it is legitimate that it does not appear in the search; the link and password come from the organizer, but the payment still takes place only in the Nightify checkout.
- The seller offers you a "name change" outside of Nightify: the change only exists within the platform and you can see it in the Booking history; a private agreement does not change the owner.
Rules and limits
- Nightify does not refund or replace tickets purchased outside the site and apps.
- The official resale does not include price negotiations: price and conditions are managed by the ticketing system.
- QRs can only be deactivated and regenerated by the organizer or Nightify; a QR forwarded to third parties cannot be "blocked" at your request without involving the organizer.
